Apply to become a lumen Gentium Fellow

Application form

Who are we looking for? We are looking for working Catholic professionals, about ages 25-40 years old, who are emerging leaders in their fields. Applicants are interested in an in-depth exploration of Catholic social teaching and its application to their missions and careers. Potential Lumen Gentium Fellows demonstrate a commitment to practising and growing in their Catholic faith, and exhibit a deep desire to live out a personal mission: they recognize they have a calling from God that is unique to them. Simultaneously, applicants understand themselves as a part of a Catholic community–the Church–and feel they must dedicate themselves and their work to the wider people of God, and to Canadian society as a whole.  Lumen Gentium Fellows must be able to commit to completing the monthly readings and to attending a monthly gathering where they will hear guest speakers, enjoy supper and fellowship, and participate in conversations about what they are learning and the challenges facing society and the Church today.

Application process and timeline: Applications to the program will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews will be scheduled after review. Accepted candidates will be informed after two intake deadlines: the first, primary deadline on June 15, and the second deadline on July 15. Please note that if we accept enough candidates to fill the program after our primary intake of applications, we will forego the secondary intake—we highly encourage you, therefore, to apply as soon as possible to ensure you have the opportunity to join our 2024-2025 cohort.

  • Applications reviewed as they are received.

  • Primary intake deadline: June 15, 2024. First round of acceptance offers will be sent after this date.

  • Secondary intake deadline: July 15, 2024. Second round of acceptance offers will be sent after this date, if the program has not been filled after the first round of acceptance offers

The application requires:

  1. The form below, completed and submitted electronically.

  2. The following submitted via email to the program coordinators (Brendan@LumenForum.ca and Robin@LumenForum.ca):

    • An updated CV/résumé. Please include any past and present volunteer work and parish volunteer involvement.

    • One recommendation letter from a parish priest, spiritual director, parish/diocesan worker, volunteer supervisor, or someone who can attest to your character, faith life and practice.
